ALUMNI AWARDS
There are a variety of awards that the Javelina Alumni Association uses to recognize the achievements of Javelina alumni, faculty and staff. If you would like to nominate a candidate for any of the following awards, please click on the following link to access a pdf form document that you can fill out and submit.
Distinguished Alumni Award
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to alumni who have demonstrated long-time and successful commitment to their careers and communities and have brought special honor to the university because of their accomplishments.
Nominations for 2013 are due February 15, 2013.
Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award recognizes graduates of the university who have experienced professional success and who are within 15 years of their graduation from Texas A&M University - Kingsville.
Nominations for 2013 are due February 15, 2013.
Javelina Heritage Award
The Javelina Heritage Award posthumously recognizes alumni who demonstrated distinguished service and success in their careers and communities while bringing special honor to the university because of their accomplishments.
Nominations for 2013 are due February 15, 2013.
FACULTY & STAFF AWARDS
Distinguished Researcher
The Distinguished Researcher Award is presented to a deserving faculty member who has shown superior scholarship through publication, continued creativity, the research impact on the field, and/or other academic or professional awards. The term research will be interpreted in its broadest sense, referring to any original, productive scholarship in any of the disciplines of investigation and learning in the university.

Distinguished Teacher (& Distinguished Teaching-Non-Tenured Track)
The Distinguished Teacher Award is presented to a deserving faculty member who has shown outstanding service to the Javelina community through education and student activities.
Nominations for 2013 are due April 15, 2013.
President's Excellence Award
The President’s Excellence Award recognizes Texas A&M University-Kingsville staff for outstanding professional and personal achievements and service to Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
Nominations for 2013 are due April 15, 2013.
STUDENT AWARDS
The Ring Award
At three separate commencement exercises, December, May and August, the alumni association sponsors a school ring for a deserving graduating student. Applications are submitted and the student is chosen based on leadership, service, obstacles overcome, and recommendations from faculty and staff. The ring is presented at the commencement ceremony.
CONNECTIONS
This program is orchestrated by the Student Alumni Board and funded by the Javelina Alumni Association. The purpose of this program is to bring successful alumni back to campus to share their experiences with current students and to instill hope and confidence that their goals and aspirations are actually achievable.
