The Javelina baseball team won its fourth Lone Star Conference title and will be making their second ever NCAA Tournament appearance after a thrilling 7-6 win over nationally ranked Abilene Christian in the championship game of the Lone Star Conference Tournament in Abilene.  Texas A&M-Kingsville entered the tournament as the number six seed, but beat fourth ranked ACU on its home field twice, once in the opening round and again in the title game.  Tim Jones (Brazoswood HS) was named the Most Valuable Player while Owen Weaver (Corning, Calif.), Joe Hamon (Murietta, Calif.) and Sam Strickland (Spring Woods HS) were named to the All-Tournament team.  The Javelinas trailed ACU 6-3 entering the bottom of the eighth and scored four runs to take a 7-6 lead.  Freshman Steven Hooker (Spring Woods HS) got out of a bases loaded no out jam in the eighth inning and didn't allow a run in the ninth inning to earn the victory.  The Javelinas will travel to the NCAA Regional next week.
