Tradition honors Javelinas for championship win

The Bell Tower in College Hall will be aglow with blue light tonight (May 7) in honor of the Javelina baseball team winning the Lone Star Conference Championship.

A tradition at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, the Bell Tower is lighted blue whenever a Javelina team wins a championship.

The Javelinas, seeded sixth in the tournament, scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to shock nationally ranked and top seeded Abilene Christian 7-6 to win the Lone Star Conference Tournament on May 6 and earn a bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Congratulations to Coach Russell Stockton and the Javelina Baseball Team. Way to go, Hogs!
