— Alumni artists will return to Texas A&M University-Kingsville to show their artwork and what they have accomplished since graduating.

The exhibit will run Monday to Feb. 8 in the Ben P. Bailey Art Gallery on campus.

"This exhibit will demonstrate the diversity of artistic direction and intent of the graduates," said Richard C. Scherpereel, art professor and exhibit coordinator.

Alumni with works on display include professional artists Carmen Lomas Garza, Amado Pena and Dolores Price. Others include Mary Cusack, Theresa Dixon, Jayne Duryea, Belitha "Bea" Mckinney, Cheo Torres and Kathy Westbrook.

"I think it's great that Dr. Scherpereel was able to get so many of us together," said Mckinney, who attended the university in 1972 while teaching for Corpus Christi Independent School District. "We are able to celebrate art and the impact it has had on our lives.

"There will be so many great artists and it will be fun to reconnect with the people I went to school with and to meet other artists."

A reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 3 will honor the 58 participants.
